Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 lb Stewing steak
  • 2 lrg Onions
  • 5 lrg Cloves garlic
  • 2 tsp Minced fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp Grnd turmeric
  • 1 tsp Chilli pwdr
  • 6 Tbsp. Light sesame oil or possibly corn oil
  • 1/4 tsp Grnd black pepper
  • 2 x Tender stalks lemon grass, finely minced or possibly 4 strips lemon rind
  • 1 c. Warm water
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 lrg Onions, finely sliced and fried till crisp and brown-optional

Direcciones

  1. Cut beef into 5cm (2 inch) squares. Cook the garlic, ginger, onion, turmeric, chili pwdr in the oil. When well cooked and sizzling, add in beef, pepper and lemon grass or possibly rind. Continue frying slowly till all juices from the beef have completely evaporated and meat is brown. Add in water and salt, cover and simmer till meat is tender, adding more water if necessary. Remove lid, raise heat and cook rapidly till the meat is oily-dry and well coated with the gravy. Garnish with fried onions.
