- NOTE: Use Double Berry Bavarian (see recipe) as a filling.
- Have egg whites at room temperature. Beat in a nonplastic bowl till frothy. Add in salt and cream of tartar and beat till stiff. Gradually beat in the sugar, a Tbsp. at a time, till stiff peaks form.
- Spread the meringue mix on the sides and bottom of a 9-inch nonstick pie pan. Bake in a 275 oven for 1 hour. Turn off the heat and leave in the oven an additional 30 min. Remove and cold.
- Meanwhile, prepare Bavarian filling. Spoon filling into cooled pie shell. Refrigerate3 hrs.
