Australian Honey Cake

Ingredientes

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3/4 c. oil
  • 3/4 c. honey
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp cloves
  • 2 tbsp cocoa
  • 1 c. self rising flour
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • 1/2 tsp mixed spices
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. (190°C.) For convection oven, preheat to 350°F. (180°C.)Mix large eggs with sugar.
  2. Add in remaining ingredients in the following order: oil, honey, soda, cloves, cocoa and flour.
  3. Lastly, add in boiling water.
  4. Bake for 1 to 1-1/4 hrs.
  5. After about 1/2 hour, lower heat to 350°F. (180°C.)
  6. For last 10 to 15 min, lower heat to 325°F. (300°F. if using a convection).
  7. Cooks Note: It is a wonderfully aromatic and deliciously moist cake, and keeps very well stored in an air-tight cake tin.
