,%20gorgonzola%20(a%20bit%20too%20strong%20I%20thought)%20Cashel%20Blue%20(scrummy),%20Danish%20Blue%20(a%20bit%20milder)%20.%20.%20.%20you%20want%20a%20blue%20cheese%20with%20a%20full%20flavour,%20but%20not%20too%20strong.%20Baby%20Gems%20can%20be%20a%20bit%20on%20the%20bitter%20side,%20but%20go%20perfectly%20with%20a%20nicely%20flavoured%20blue%20cheese.%20they%20are%20a%20perfect%20foil%20for%20each%20other!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20cut%20my%20finger%20rather%20badly%20this%20afternoon,%20well%20my%20thumb%20actually.%20I%20was%20slicing%20apples%20for%20a%20church%20function,%20using%20my%20Pampered%20Chef%20apple%20slicer%20and%20dummy%20me%20.%20.%20.%20a%20piece%20of%20apple%20got%20stuck%20and%20I%20tried%20to%20push%20it%20through%20with%20my%20thumb.%20YIKES!!%20Bled%20like%20a%20son%20of%20a%20gun!%20That%20apple%20slicer%20is%20fabulously%20sharp!!%20I%20hadn't%20realized%20just%20how%20sharp.%20It's%20a%20goodun!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20an%20el%20cheapo%20version%20before%20and%20it%20wasn't%20half%20as%20sharp.%20I%20regularly%20pushed%20apples%20through%20with%20my%20thumbs.%20Won't%20be%20doing%20that%20again!%20Live%20and%20learn!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyhow%20I%20am%20giving%20the%20old%20thumb%20a%20rest%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20days%20and%20so%20.%20.%20.%20you%20get%20a%20simple%20salad%20today.%20It's%20a%20tasty%20one%20though.%20Enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Baby%20Gems%20with%20a%20Blue%20Cheese%20Vinaigrette*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%204%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20my%20favourite%20salad%20of%20all%20time.%20I%20can't%20get%20enough%20of%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMake%20the%20dressing%20by%20whisking%20the%20vinegar%20and%20cream%20with%20a%20little%20seasoning,and%20the%20sugar,%20then%20gradually%20whisk%20in%20the%20oil%20and%20crumble%20in%20the%20cheese.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlice%20your%20baby%20gems%20into%20quarters%20and%20place%20on%20chilled%20salad%20plates.%20Drizzle%20each%20with%20one%20quarter%20of%20the%20dressing%20and%20then%20sprinkle%20an%20equal%20portion%20of%20spring%20onions%20over%20each.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeason%20to%20taste%20with%20a%20bit%20of%20sea%20salt%20and%20a%20good%20grinding%20of%20black%20pepper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENote:%20any%20good%20quality%20blue%20cheese%20is%20fab%20in%20this.%20Irish%20Cashel%20Blue%20is%20wonderful!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
