Ingredientes

  • 2 c. Self-rising flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1/3 c. Shortening
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 1/2 tsp Baking soda
  • 3/4 lb Sliced bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 c. Shredded Cheddar cheese

Direcciones

  1. Combine flour and sugar; cut in shortening with a pastry blender till the mix resembles coarse meal; set aside.
  2. Combine buttermilk and soda, stirring till soda dissolves. Add in buttermilk mix, bacon, and cheese to flour mix, stirring till dry ingredients are moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or possibly 5 times.
  3. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness; cut with a 2-inch biscuit vutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-12 min.
  4. Yields about 18 biscuits.
