Baked Beetroot With Cream And Onions

Ingredientes

  • 5 sm to medium beetroot
  • 30 gm butter
  • 1 med onion thinly sliced
  • 300 ml whipping or possibly double cream

Direcciones

  1. Preheat the oven to 1800C/350 degrees F/gas mark 4.
  2. Bake the beetroot as in the recipe above or possibly cook them in boiling water for 20 to 30 min until tender.
  3. Peel and slice them.
  4. Heat the butter in a shallow flameproof pan.
  5. Cook the onion in the butter for 5 min until golden brown.
  6. Add in the sliced beetroot then pour in the cream.
  7. Season with a very little salt and some black pepper.
  8. Remove from the heat and bake in the oven till golden brown on top and bubbling.
  9. Serves 4 as a side dish
