Baked Pear Gratin

Ingredientes

  • 4 x pears
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 2 Tbsp. sugar
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 pt water
  • 1/2 pt lowfat milk

Direcciones

  1. Peel the pears, cut in half and place in an ovenproof pie dish with 1/2 the sugar, the water and butter. Bake at 350 F till pears are tender.
  2. Separate Large eggs, add in lowfat milk and 1/2 remaining sugar to egg yolks and pour over pears. Continue baking for 20 to 30 min till custard is set.
  3. Beat egg whites till stiff, add in remaining sugar and continue beating till stiff. Spoon meringue on top of pear custard, and continue to bake till top to lightly brown.
  4. Serve warm with cream.
