Ingredientes

  • 2 lb Grnd beef
  • 1 can Tomatoes (14 ounce)
  • 2 Tbsp. Chili pwdr Or possibly
  • 5 tsp Grnd ancho (pasilla) chile PLUS
  • 1 tsp Cumin AND
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 x Garlic clove, crushed
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 c. Black olives
  • 4 c. Corn meal
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 8 c. Water
  • 2 x Large eggs, well beaten
  • 4 Tbsp. Butter

Direcciones

  1. An early stage in the developent of the deep-dish tamale pie, with the real turn-of-the-century flavor.
  2. In skillet, saute/fry beef in pan till brown. Add in tomatoes, chili pwdr, garlic, salt and olives. Cook 15 min.
  3. Grease 9x13" baking dish and line bottom with 1/2 Corn Meal Dough. Add in meat mix and cover with remaining 1/2 Corn Meal Dough. Bake 20 min at 325'F. or possibly till browned.
  4. CORN MEAL DOUGH:Add in corn meal and salt to water in pot. Bring to boil and cook over medium heat till thick, 5-10 min. Add in Large eggs and butter. Stir well.
