%20would%20be%20overshadowed%20by%20%E2%80%9CAmerica%E2%80%99s%20Healthiest%20Grocery%20Store.%E2%80%9D%20%20That%E2%80%99s%20just%20the%20normal%20reaction%20around%20here%20when%20a%20chain%20store%20comes%20to%20town.%20I%20(unfortunately)%20remember%20as%20a%20young%20child%20seeing%20topless%20protesters%20in%20front%20of%20the%20Gap%20downtown%20(lovely),%20and%20when%20Border%E2%80%99s%20moved%20in,%20some%20angry%20mob%20decided%20it%20was%20a%20good%20idea%20to%20throw%20acid%20on%20the%20windows.%20Come%20on,%20people.%20I%20love%20Santa%20Cruz%20because%20you%20really%20have%20to%20look%20hard%20to%20find%20a%20chain%20store,%20and%20I%20love%20to%20support%20the%20local%20places%20when%20given%20a%20choice.%20%20But%20when%20it%20comes%20down%20to%20it,%20of%20all%20the%20chains%20to%20come%20to%20that%20building,%20Whole%20Foods%20is%20better%20than%20a%20Walmart,%20right?%20And%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20think%20it%20was%20worth%20all%20the%20fuss.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20still%20consider%20myself%20a%20devout%20shopper%20at%20Shopper%E2%80%99s%20Corner,%20New%20Leaf,%20and%20Staff%20of%20Life,%20but%20once%20in%20a%20while,%20I%20stop%20into%20Whole%20Foods,%20and%20I%20don%E2%80%99t%20let%20myself%20feel%20guilty%20about%20it.%20When%20Levi%20was%20brand%20new,%20and%20cooking%20was%20not%20on%20our%20radar,%20we%20went%20there%20once%20to%20check%20out%20the%20prepared%20food%20section.%20It%20was%20quite%20impressive.%20One%20of%20the%20items%20we%20picked%20(among%20the%20overwhelming%20number%20of%20choices,%20from%20grilled%20salmon%20with%20peach%20salsa,%20to%20fried%20chicken)%20was%20BBQ%20Turkey%20Meatballs.%20I%20remember%20them%20fondly%20because%20I%20was%20so%20hungry%20when%20we%20bought%20them%20and%20they%20were%20exactly%20what%20I%20wanted%20them%20to%20be%20%E2%80%94%20flavorful,%20juicy%20meatballs%20covered%20in%20a%20sweet%20&%20tangy%20BBQ%20sauce.%20I%20thought%20our%20version%20was%20pretty%20darn%20close.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBBQ%20Turkey%20Meatballs%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20mixing%20bowl,%20combine%20the%20first%207%20ingredients.%20Mix%20together%20with%20your%20hands%20until%20everything%20is%20incorporated.%20Form%20into%20six%202-inch%20balls,%20return%20to%20the%20bowl,%20cover%20and%20refrigerate%20until%20you%E2%80%99re%20ready%20to%20start%20dinner.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDrizzle%20some%20olive%20oil%20into%20a%20large%20skillet,%20just%20enough%20to%20coat%20the%20bottom,%20and%20turn%20heat%20to%20medium.%20When%20hot,%20add%20the%20meatballs.%20Let%20cook%20for%20a%20minute,%20then%20use%20tongs%20to%20(carefully)%20rotate%20the%20meatballs%20until%20they%E2%80%99re%20nicely%20browned%20all%20over.%20This%20will%20take%20about%2010-12%20minutes.%20Turn%20off%20the%20heat%20for%20a%20few%20minutes%20to%20let%20the%20pan%20cool%20down%20before%20adding%20the%20sauce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPour%20some%20BBQ%20sauce%20into%20the%20skillet%20and%20use%20the%20tongs%20to%20coat%20the%20meatballs%20in%20the%20sauce.%20Bring%20to%20a%20simmer,%20cover,%20and%20cook%20for%20about%2015%20minutes,%20or%20until%20meatballs%20are%20cooked%20through,%20uncovering%20once%20or%20twice%20to%20spoon%20some%20sauce%20over%20the%20meatballs.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20with%20rice%20pilaf%20and%20roasted%20broccoli%20(or%20your%20favorite,%20seasonal%20vegetable).%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
