Ingredientes

  • 4 to 6 lg. onions
  • 1/2 pound grnd beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 (8 ounce.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 2 tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp. butter, melted

Direcciones

  1. Peel onions. Cook in boiling salted water till tender, 25 to 35 min. Drain and cold. Remove centers; chop and reserve 1/2 c. of onion centers. Cook grnd beef with 1/2 tsp. salt till lightly browned. Stir in reserved minced onion. Stuff onion shells with grnd beef mix. Place in casserole. Combine tomato sauce, water, flour, sugar, and 1/4 tsp. salt. Pour over onions. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 min. Combine bread crumbs, cheese and melted butter. Sprinkle over onions. Bake and additional 15 to 20 min.
