- Heat butter and saute/fry onion till tender. Stir in flour and heat to a bubble, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and slowly whisk in lowfat milk. Whisk quickly, but pour lowfat milk slowly.
- Return to medium-high heat and bring just to a boil. Add in remaining ingredients and bring to a simmer. Simmer gently stirring frequently for about 25 min. Ladle into bowls and serve.
- This recipe yields 6 servings.
