.%20They%20get%20harvested%20and%20then,%20ha%20and%20this%20is%20the%20big%20difference,%20gets%20fed%20to%20street%20rescued%20elephants!%20So%20now%20you%20can%20imagine%20what%20happens:%20The%20elephants%20eat%20the%20coffee%20cherries,%20then%20digest%20them%20and%20.....yes%20they%20are%20coming%20out%20in%20the%20back%20again.%20Then%20the%20fermented%20cherries%20(only%20the%20nice%20and%20whole%20ones)%20get%20picked%20from%20the%20elephant%20poop.%20To%20produce%201%20kg%20of%20coffee%20beans,%20one%20needs%2033%20kg%20of%20fresh%20coffee%20cherries.%20Why?%20Because%20when%20the%20elephants%20eat%20it,%20it%20gets%20mixed%20with%20fresh%20fruit%20and%20eaten%20as%20a%20snack,%20some%20of%20the%20cherries%20will%20get%20crushed%20between%20the%20teeth%20and%20are%20not%20usable%20anymore.%20Then%20sometimes%20the%20elephant%20do%20what%20they%20have%20to%20do%20in%20places%20that%20they%20can%20not%20find%20the%20poop%20or%20they%20are%20in%20the%20water....and%20everything%20is%20lost.%20So%20it%20is%20not%20easy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20they%20get%20cleaned%20and%20dried.%20The%20coffee%20gets%20then%20roasted%20at%20200C%20to%20a%20medium%20roast,%20then%20packed%20and%20shipped%20immediately%20to%20conserve%20the%20freshness.%20So%20for%20anybody%20who%20has%20doubts%20about%20the%20cleanliness%20of%20the%20coffee?%20It%20has%20been%20tested%20and%20came%20out%20as%20one%20of%20the%20cleanest%20coffees%20available.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20preparation%20of%20the%20coffee%20is%20something%20special%20too.%20It%20work%20in%20a%20vacuum%20coffee%20machine,%20a%20replica%20of%20an%201840%20model,%20and%20it%20works%20perfectly.%20The%20coffee%20beans%20get%20grind%20by%20hand%20at%20the%20table%20and%20then%20the%20coffee%20is%20prepared,%20so%20there%20is%20a%20lot%20of%20show%20and%20enough%20time%20for%20the%20waiter%20to%20tell%20a%20great%20story%20about%20the%20elephants%20and%20the%20coffee%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBlake,%20the%20owner%20of%20Black%20Ivory%20Coffee%20demonstrating%20the%20grinding%20of%20the%20coffee%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHow%20does%20the%20coffee%20taste?????%20If%20you%20expect%20any%20special%20flavor....sorry%20to%20disappoint%20you,%20it%20tastes%20like%20coffee.%20OK,%20it%20is%20milder%20than%20coffee,%20maybe%20for%20many%20of%20us%20too%20mild,%20it%20even%20looks%20a%20little%20bit%20like%20a%20dark%20tea.%20I%20have%20to%20admit,%20I%20do%20prefer%20a%20nice%20espresso%20after%20dinner,%20but%20if%20it%20is%20explained%20properly%20on%20the%20flavors,%20one%20just%20takes%20a%20little%20sugar%20in%20the%20coffee,%20yes%20I%20have%20to%20admit%20it%20is%20actually%20very%20nice%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHow%20much%20does%20it%20cost?%20Let's%20jut%20say,%20it%20is%20not%20cheap,%20but%20if%20you%20want%20to%20try,%20we%20will%20offer%20it%20within%20the%20next%20couple%20of%20month%20as%20one%20of%20only%2019%20hotels%20world%20wide%20to%20be%20able%20to%20sell%20the%20coffee%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%20is%20another%20coffee%20that%20is%20made%20similar,%20but%20with%20Civets,%20but%20unfortunately%20because%20of%20the%20popularity%20there%20are%20now%20cases%20of%20animal%20cruelty,%20so%20one%20has%20to%20be%20careful%20with%20buying%20that%20coffee%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
