Receta Blackberry Brandy
This smelled really wonderful cooking away in the crock-pot and was equally enjoyable in the glass! A bonus is its pretty color and it looks very festive in your best holiday glassware. However, most of mine will end up in a Solo cup for sipping around a bonfire! Cheers!
Ingredientes
- 2 16 ounce bags frozen blackberries, thawed
- ¾ cup white sugar
- ½ cup dark brown sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1 tablespoon crushed bay leaves
- 3 cups water
- 2 cups brandy
Direcciones
- Mash the berries well with the sugar in a crock-pot.
- Using a citrus zester, zest an entire lemon into the contents.
- Add the bay leaves.
- Add the water and stir well.
- Cook on low for 3 hours.
- Stir and cook on high for another hour.
- Let cool enough to handle and strain well, as many times as necessary, through a fine sieve until liquid only is reserved.
- Stir in the brandy and let cool completely.
- Store in air tight containers.
