This time of year is filled to the brim with all the flavors and spices that tell me it’s fall. Two of my favorites are pumpkin and apple. I love the flavor and creaminess of a pumpkin spiced latte and the crispness of fresh apple cider. The pairing of these two flavors is the perfect combination for a nice hot drink. Curl on the couch with a good movie or book and enjoy!

  1. This comes out thicker than traditional cider since it is made with pumpkin puree. If you want a thinner beverage, add more apple cider or water while you prepare it. Makes about 2 cups
  2. In a large pot mix the pumpkin puree, apple cider, pumpkin pie spice and the cinnamon. Bring the mixture to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 15 minutes. Strain the mixture through a mesh strainer to be sure to remove any lumps from the puree. Serve warm topped with whipped cream.
