Boiled Red Cabbage

Ingredientes

  • 1 sm. red cabbage, quartered & thinly sliced
  • 1-2 tart apples, grated
  • 1 1/2 tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 c. vinegar
  • 1/2 c. red currant jelly
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Direcciones

  1. Heat butter in heavy kettle and add in cabbage, apples, vinegar, jelly, salt and water. Cover and simmer till cabbage is tender, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Add in sugar and more salt if needed. Serve with pork and other meat dishes. Serves 4.
