Receta Braised Beef With Noodles

- Brown beef cubes in saucepan till well browned.
- Add in 1-1/2 c. water, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Cover and cook over low heat till beef is almost tender-about 1 hour.
- Add in onion and celery. Continue cooking till meat and vegetables are tender-about 20 min.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Mix flour and water till smooth. Stir into beef mix. Cook, stirring constantly, till thickened-about 2 min.
- Serve over noodles.
- NOTE: Pot beef cubes, use a 1-1/2 lb. blade chuck steak. Separate lean meat from fat and bone. Cut meat into 3/4-inch cubes. Divide beef cubes in half. Use half (about 1 c.) for Braised Beef with Noodles. Save remaining 1 c. for Beef and Peppers (p. 34).
