%20that%20really%20annoyed%20me.%20Once%20I%20got%20past%20that%20(and%20I%20think%20she's%20stopped%20doing%20it)...I%20really%20started%20enjoying%20her%20shows.%20She's%20funny%20in%20a%20a%20cool,%20corny..silly%20adult%20kind%20of%20way.%20And%20the%20tips%20and%20techniques%20she%20shares%20are%20great.%20This%20is%20the%20first%20recipe%20(I'm%20pretty%20sure...but%20don't%20always%20hold%20me%20to%20my%20memory)%20of%20hers%20that%20I've%20made,%20and....%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWOW!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIt's%20easy.%20Not%20quick%20(bone-in%20chicken%20takes%20time%20to%20cook).%20There%20are%20a%20few%20simple%20steps.%20I%20wouldn't%20take%20any%20short%20cuts.%20The%20results%20are%20absolute%20deliciousness.%20You%20start%20off%20by%20grilling%20the%20tomatillos%20and%20jalapenos.%20This%20adds%20a%20slightly%20sweet,%20smokey%20flavor%20and%20takes%20everything%20to%20another%20level.%20You%20end%20up%20with%20tender%20chicken%20covered%20in%20a%20delicately%20smooth%20sauce%20with%20hints%20of%20heat%20and%20something%20almost%20sweet%20in%20the%20end.%20I%20think%20what%20surprised%20me%20here%20was%20that%20the%20sauce%20doesn't%20look%20delicate%20with%20those%20little%20chunks%20of%20tomatillos%20and%20onions...but%20when%20it%20hits%20your%20pallet,%20you%20want%20to%20close%20your%20eyes%20and%20go...mmmmm.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBraised%20Chicklen%20with%20Tomatillos%20and%20Jalapenos%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6%20tomatillos,%20husked%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20jalapenos%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYou%20start%20off%20by%20grilling%20your%20tomatillos%20and%20jalapenos.%20Sure%20you%20can%20do%20this%20outside%20on%20the%20bbq%20grill.%20I%20used%20my%20indoor%20grill%20pan%20on%20my%20stove.%20If%20you%20don't%20have%20either....do%20it%20in%20a%20heavy,%20hot%20skillet%20(cast%20iron%20would%20be%20best).%20Or....broil%20them%20in%20your%20oven.%20The%20goal%20is%20to%20get%20them%20charred.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo...tomatillos%20have%20a%20papery%20husk%20on%20them%20that%20need%20to%20be%20removed%20before%20you%20do%20anything.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EUnderneath%20that%20husk,%20you%20have%20what%20looks%20like%20a%20miniature%20green%20tomato.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThats%20kinda%20sticky.%20Wash%20em%20up%20and%20toss%20them%20on%20the%20grill%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20they're%20all%20charred,%20set%20them%20aside%20to%20cool.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGet%20out%20a%20large%20pan%20with%20high,%20straight%20sides%20(not%20a%20big%20ole%20pot...you%20just%20want%20something%20that%20will%20eventually%20be%20able%20to%20hold%20everything%20without%20slopping%20over),%20Coat%20it%20with%20olive%20oil%20and%20heat%20over%20medium-high%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESprinkle%20your%20chicken%20with%20salt%20and%20place%20in%20the%20hot%20pan,%20skin%20side%20down.%20Brown%20on%20all%20sides%20(I%20had%20to%20do%20this%20is%20batches).%20Remove%20the%20chicken%20from%20the%20pan%20and%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGet%20rid%20of%20the%20fat%20in%20the%20pan%20and%20add%20in%20a%20little%20oil.%20Add%20the%20onions,%20sprinkle%20with%20salt%20and%20saute%20(scraping%20up%20the%20good%20stuff%20on%20the%20bottom%20of%20the%20pan%20that%20the%20chicken%20left%20behind)%20until%20the%20onions%20are%20soft,%20about%207%20or%208%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMeanwhile,%20chop%20the%20tomatillos%20into%20chunks.%20Finely%20dice%20the%20jalapenos%20into%20little%20bits.%20If%20you're%20not%20into%20heat...ditch%20the%20seeds%20before%20you%20start%20dicing%20(thats%20what%20I%20did).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20onions%20are%20tender%20and%20smell%20ooooh%20sooo%20good....add%20the%20garlic%20and%20continue%20sauteing%20for%20another%20minute%20or%20two.%20Add%20in%20the%20tomatillos%20and%20jalapenos,%20chicken%20stock,%20lime%20juice%20and%20zest.%20Give%20it%20a%20quick%20taste%20and%20add%20salt%20if%20necessary.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPut%20the%20chicken%20into%20the%20pan,%20bring%20to%20a%20boil.%20Cover,%20reduce%20heat%20and%20allow%20to%20simmer%20for%2015%20minutes.%20Remove%20the%20lid%20and%20simmer%20for%20another%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20that's%20going%20on,%20make%20the%20optional%20cream%20sauce%20but%20combining%20the%20sour%20cream,%20lime%20zest%20and%20juice%20(I%20added%20a%20small%20pinch%20of%20salt).%20Set%20aside%20until%20the%20dinner%20is%20ready.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemove%20the%20chicken%20from%20the%20pan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToss%20the%20chopped%20cilantro%20into%20the%20sauce%20and%20stir.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServe%20by%20spooning%20the%20sauce%20over%20the%20chicken%20and%20garnish%20with%20cilantro%20and%20lime%20sour%20cream.%20To%20be%20honest...this%20dish%20did%20not%20need%20the%20lime%20sour%20cream.%20Had%20I%20left%20the%20jalapeno%20seeds%20in,%20I%20might've%20needed%20the%20cream%20to%20tone%20down%20the%20heat.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20in%20all...I%20absolutely%20love%20this%20dish.%20I%20can't%20tell%20you%20what%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20family%20had%20to%20say.%20No%20one%20else%20was%20home%20and%20I%20dined%20alone%20(happens%20often%20since%20the%20girls%20are%20grown%20and%20Sir%20Sportsalot%20is%20out%20there%20coaching%20basketball).%20Good%20thing%20is....there's%20leftovers!!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
