Bratten's Clam Chowder

Ingredientes

  • 2 (6 ounce.) cans clams
  • 1 c. celery (minced)
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 quart. half and half
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 c. minced onions
  • 2 c. finely minced potatoes
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste

Direcciones

  1. Drain juice from clams and pour over vegetables in saucepan; add in sufficient water to barely cover and simmer about 20 min.
  2. Heat butter, add in flour and blend or possibly cook a minute or possibly two. Add in half and half and cook. Stir till smooth and thick. Use wire whip to blend. Add in liquid removed vegetables, clams and heat. Season.
