Receta Bread (50% Whole Wheat If Desired)

Ingredientes
- 1/2 c. lukewarm water
- 1 cake Fleishmann's yeast
- 2 c. scalded lowfat milk
- 7 1/2 c. flour sifted
- 2 tbsp. shortening, melted
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 teaspoon salt
Direcciones
- Dissolve water, sugar and scalded lowfat milk in large bowl. When cold, add in yeast, 3 c. flour and beat till smooth. Let rise till light (about 1 hour). Then add in melted shortening, sugar, salt and 4 1/2 c. flour. Knead till elastic. Let rise till double in size (about 1 hour). Make into 2 loaves, put in greased pans and allow to double in size (another hour). Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. When using whole wheat flour, use 3 portions of white flour to one of whole wheat, or possibly half and half. Never fails.
- Makes 2 loaves.
