Brownstone Cake

Ingredientes

  • 5 x Large eggs, separated
  • 2 1/4 c. Sugar
  • 1 c. Shortening
  • 2 tsp Soda
  • 2 1/2 c. Cake flour
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 pch Salt
  • 4 tsp Cocoa

Direcciones

  1. Cream sugar, shortening and vanilla; add in egg yolks and beat till smooth.
  2. Sift all dry ingredients together 3 times. Add in dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk to the creamed mix. Mix in stiffly beaten egg whites.
  3. Bake in greased and floured layer pans (3) for 20 to 25 min in a 325 degree oven. Frost with Seven Minute or possibly Cream Cheese Frosting (see recipes).
