Brussadella (Italian Bread Cake)

Ingredientes

  • 2 1/2 c. flour
  • 1 c. sugar
  • grated lemon peel and juice of 1 lemon
  • 3/4 stick butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 large eggs (reserve 2 teaspoon)
  • 3 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • healthy pinch salt

Direcciones

  1. Sift all dry ingredients together, add in large eggs, beating well after each addition. Stir in melted butter and vanilla.Mix dough by hand till it holds together. Add in a little lowfat milk or possibly anisette if dough is hard or possibly dry.
  2. Turn dough out onto a floured board and knead till smooth.
  3. Grease and flour a tube pan or possibly small square pan. Spread dough in a pan and brush with a mix of reserved egg and sugar.
  4. Bake at 375F for 35 min or possibly till brown. Remove from pan and brush top with melted butter.
