%20I%20have%20lost%20my%20cooking%20mojo.%20I%20really%20haven't%20felt%20inspired%20to%20be%20cooking.%20What%20I%20am%20doing%20is%20slapping%20together%20edibles.%20There%20IS%20a%20difference.%20This%20weekend%20we%20felt%20like%20something%20braised.%20It%20was%20snowing%20and%20cold.%20We%20had%20some%20short%20ribs%20in%20the%20freezer%20from%20Whippoorwill%20Farm.%20Perfect.%20Well%20maybe%20not.%20I%20chose%20a%20recipe%20from%20an%20unnamed%20source.%20This%20unnamed%20source%20is%20a%20comfort%20food%20kind%20of%20gal%20person.%20Unfortunately%20this%20recipe%20didn't%20cut%20it.%20Live%20and%20learn.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMove%20on%20to%20Monday%20night.%20I%20had%20Mahi%20Mahi%20in%20the%20refridge.%20I%20had%20Brussel%20Sprouts.%20I%20didn't%20feel%20like%20either.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20have%20to%20tell%20you%20that%20this%20Brussel%20Sprout%20Salad%20is%20my%20new%20favorite.%20It%20is%20so%20so%20good.%20You%20have%20to%20try%20it.%20I%20swear%20you%20will%20like%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20also%20made%20Coconut%20Mahi%20Mahi.%20It%20was%20really%20good%20too.%20Whole%20dinner%20took%20under%20an%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20morning%20I%20made%20Vanilla%20(shhhhh%20don't%20tell%20Dr.%20Food%20that%20I%20used%20his%20good%20bourbon%20to%20make%20it).%20I%20also%20made%20a%20keffir%20lime%20extract.%20I%20figure%20I%20can%20use%20it%20in%20baking%20and%20ice%20cream%20and%20stuff.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFrom%20the%20Archives%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDecember%202005%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELily%20getting%20festive.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENikko%20before%20she%20got%20obese%20and%20skanky.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20redwood%20burl.%20I%20had%20an%20obsession%20with%20redwood%20burls.%20Still%20do%20but%20I%20aint%20in%20California%20no%20more.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOk,%20this%20isn't%20working%20out.%20I%20better%20end%20this%20post...WAIT!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EShaved%20Brussels%20Sprouts%20Salad%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECHOW%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20the%20lemon%20juice,%20zest,%20mustard,%20shallot,%20and%20measured%20salt%20and%20pepper%20in%20a%20medium,%20nonreactive%20bowl;%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGrate%20the%20eggs%20on%20the%20large%20holes%20of%20a%20box%20grater;%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHolding%20on%20to%20the%20stem%20end%20of%20the%20Brussels%20sprouts,%20thinly%20slice%20them%20crosswise%20until%20you%20get%20within%201/2%20inch%20of%20the%20stem.%20Discard%20the%20stems%20and%20place%20the%20sliced%20sprouts%20in%20a%20large%20bowl,%20breaking%20up%20the%20layers%20and%20discarding%20any%20tough%20pieces;%20set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhile%20whisking%20continuously,%20slowly%20drizzle%20the%20oil%20into%20the%20shallot%20mixture%20until%20all%20of%20the%20oil%20is%20incorporated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdd%20the%20pine%20nuts%20and%20half%20of%20the%20grated%20eggs%20to%20the%20Brussels%20sprouts%20and%20drizzle%20with%20the%20dressing.%20Gently%20toss%20until%20combined.%20Let%20sit%20at%20room%20temperature%20until%20the%20sprouts%20slightly%20soften%20and%20the%20flavors%20meld,%20about%2015%20minutes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToss%20the%20salad%20again%20to%20redistribute%20the%20dressing.%20Taste%20and%20season%20with%20salt%20and%20pepper%20as%20needed.%20Transfer%20to%20a%20serving%20dish,%20top%20with%20the%20remaining%20eggs,%20and%20sprinkle%20with%20the%20Parmesan.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThai%20Mahi%20Mahi%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAdapted%20from%20Gluten%20Free%20Real%20Food%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20T%20coconut%20oil%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5%20cloves%20garlic,%20finely%20minced%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20onion,%20finely%20minced%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20T%20ginger,%20grated%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20can%20organic%20coconut%20milk%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20kafir%20lime%20leaves%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2%20T%20fish%20sauce%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5%20pieces%20Mahi%20Mahi%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20saute%20pan%20heat%20coconut%20oil%20over%20medium%20heat.%20Add%20minced%20garlic%20and%20onion.%20Saute%20for%20approximately%205%20minutes%20until%20soft.%20Add%20ginger.%20Saute%20for%20another%20couple%20of%20minutes.%20Add%20coconut%20milk,%20lime%20leaves%20and%20fish%20sauce.%20Stir%20to%20combine.%20Add%20Mahi%20Mahi%20without%20overlapping.%20Spoon%20sauce%20over%20top%20so%20that%20the%20fish%20is%20submersed%20so%20it%20will%20poach.%20Cook%20on%20medium%20heat%20for%20approximately%2010%20minutes%20or%20until%20fish%20is%20done.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
