Ingredientes

  • 1 pkt Active dry yeast
  • 1 c. Hot water
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk, 1% lowfat, scalded
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. Butter or possibly margarine
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 4 c. All-purpose flour Melted butter
  • 1 tsp Dry marjoram
  • 1/2 tsp Dry thyme
  • 1/2 tsp Dry parsley

Direcciones

  1. Combine yeast and hot water in large bowl. Let stand 5 min. In a saucepan, combine lowfat milk, sugar, butter and salt. Heat till butter melts.
  2. Stir into yeast mix. Add in 1 c. of the flour. Beat till dough is elastic. Gradually stir in about 2 1/2 c. more flour or possibly till a stiff dough is formed. On a lightly floured surface, knead dough for 15 min.
  3. Place in greased bowl, turning once. Cover and let rise 1 hour in hot place till doubled. Punch down. Divide dough in half. Cut 1 half into 8 pcs. Shape each piece into a ball. Dip each ball into melted butter.
  4. Place balls side by side in 2 rows in greased 9 by 5-inch loaf pan.
  5. Sprinkle with herbs. Repeat with remaining dough in another loaf pan. Cover and let rise in hot place 45 min longer. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-55 min or possibly till golden. Remove from pan and cold on wire rack.
  6. NOTES : You may use your favorite herbs in the quantities given.
