Ingredientes

  • 1 c. Cornmeal
  • 1/2 c. All purpose flour
  • 1/2 c. Corn flour
  • 1 Tbsp. Baking pwdr
  • 3/4 tsp Grnd red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Dry thyme
  • 1/4 tsp White pepper
  • 1/8 tsp Dired oregano leaves
  • 1/4 c. Very finely minced green on ions (tops only)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Chopped garlic
  • 2 x Large eggs, beaten
  • 1 c. Lowfat milk
  • 2 Tbsp. Unsalted butter, vegetable o il, or possibly bacon drippings Vegetable oil for frying

Direcciones

  1. Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl, breaking up any lumps. Stir in the green onions and garlic.
  2. Add in the egges and blend well. In a small saucepan bring the lowfat milk and the 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter or possibly other fat to a boil. Remove from heat and add in to flour mix, half at a time, stiring well after each addition.
  3. Chill 1 hour. In a large skillet or possibly deep fryer, heat 4 inches of oil to 350 degrees. Drop the batter by Tbsp. fulls into the warm oil, don't crowd. Cook till dark golden on each side and cooked through, about 1 minute per side. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Makes approx 30 pcs.
