Receta Candied Bacon Maple Banana Bread

Ingredientes

1 ½ cups sifted All-Purpose Flour

2 ½ teaspoons baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

5 Tablespoons butter

2/3 cup granulated sugar

¾ teaspoon lemon zest

1 egg
-
1 cup ripe banana, puréed
-
½ cup nuts, toasted, chopped
-
4 oz. crumbled, cooked bacon
-
2 Tablespoons maple sugar
-
2 sticks butter, softened to room temperature

Direcciones
- Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, cream the granulated sugar and butter together until smooth.
- Beat in the egg and banana.
- Fold in the nuts.
- Brush the insides of a medium load pan with butter and place the batter in the pan.
- Bake at 350°F for about an hour, or until done.
- Allow to cool before slicing.
- In a small pan heat the cooked bacon until it begins to release any
- congealed fat and drain the fat well.
- Add the of maple sugar and heat, over low heat, stirring frequently, until the sugar melts and coats the bacon well.
- Allow to cool and break up into small pieces.
- Mix bacon pieces into butter until smooth.
