!%20I%20hope%20you%20will%20enjoy%20this%20little%20series%20as%20much%20as%20we%20already%20have%E2%80%A6haha!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20developing%20the%20recipe,%20I%20was%20working%20to%20combine%20two%20of%20my%20very%20favorite%20things,%20Caramel%20Apples%20and%20Ice%20Cream.%20I%20had%20never%20heard%20of%20Caramel%20Apple%20Ice%20Cream,%20and%20thought%20I%20would%20give%20it%20a%20try.%20The%20result%20was%20a%20delicious%20ice%20cream%20that%20tasted%20like%20fall%20and%20caramel,%20and%20apples,%20and%20apple%20pie%20and%20just%20really%20good!%20It%20is%20a%20unique%20ice%20cream%20for%20sure,%20but%20I%20have%20a%20feeling%20it%20will%20become%20a%20%E2%80%9CWelcome%20to%20Fall%E2%80%9D%20traditional%20food%20in%20our%20house%20as%20it%20really%20turned%20out%20quite%20yummy!%20I%20hope%20you%20will%20enjoy%20it%20too%20and%20will%20come%20back%20and%20let%20me%20know%20if%20you%20try%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20family%20presses%20fresh%20apple%20cider%20each%20fall%20and%20even%20though%20we%20live%20in%20Seattle,%20they%20always%20manage%20to%20get%20a%20gallon%20or%20two%20of%20the%20fresh%20fall%20nectar%20out%20to%20me%20and%20my%20husband%20and%20we%20are%20always%20very%20very%20grateful!%20I%20used%20this%20fresh%20cider%20as%20part%20of%20the%20ice%20cream%20base,%20but%20if%20you%20don%E2%80%99t%20have%20fresh%20cider,%20I%20am%20sure%20some%20store%20bought%20would%20work%20just%20fine.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4%20Tbls%20Caramel%20Ice%20Cream%20topping,%20plus%20more%20to%20use%20while%20serving%20if%20you%20are%20so%20inclined%E2%80%A6which%20I%20am.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst%20Step%20is%20to%20melt%20the%20butter%20in%20a%20saucepan%20over%20low%20to%20medium%20heat%20and%20then%20add%20in%20the%202%20Tbls%20of%20both%20White%20and%20Brown%20Sugar%20and%20the%20chopped%20apples%20and%20about%201-2%20Tbls%20of%20the%20Heavy%20Cream.%20%20You%20can%20also%20add%20the%20Cinnamon%20at%20this%20time.%20%20I%20have%20put%20up%20a%20picture%20of%20the%20apple%20that%20I%20used%20and%20the%20peeled%20portion%20is%20all%20that%20I%20used,%20so%20it%20is%20not%20too%20much%20apple.%20%20After%20chopping%20it%20up%20into%20pretty%20small%20chunks,%20it%20is%20about%201/2%20cup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20it%20comes%20to%20a%20boil%20and%20a%20bubble,%20stir%20and%20then%20continue%20to%20boil%20for%204-5%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20caramel%20is%20formed%20and%20the%20apples%20are%20tender,%20but%20not%20mushy.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20mix%20will%20need%20to%20cool%20down%20before%20you%20add%20it%20into%20the%20ice%20cream.%20%20Usually%20while%20it%20is%20boiling%20I%20mix%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20ice%20cream%20mix%20together%20and%20add%20it%20to%20the%20ice%20cream%20maker.%20%20This%20simply%20entails%20mixing%20the%20Cider,%20Cream,%20Milk,%20Vanilla%20and%20the%20rest%20of%20the%20Sugar%20together%20and%20whisking%20it%20together%20until%20the%20sugar%20dissolves.%20%20%20Once%20the%20sugar%20is%20dissolved,%20add%20to%20your%20ice%20cream%20%20maker%20and%20freeze%20according%20to%20your%20ice%20cream%20makers%20instructions.%20%20I%20usually%20mix%20my%20ice%20cream%20together%20in%20a%20glass%20measuring%20cup%20and%20after%20I%20am%20done%20I%20rinse%20it%20out,%20and%20add%20in%20my%20caramel%20apples%20from%20the%20stove.%20%20Then%20put%20them%20in%20a%20water%20bath%20to%20cool%20the%20caramel%20apples%20quickly%20as%20they%20need%20to%20be%20added%20into%20the%20mix%20before%20the%20freezing%20process%20is%20done.%20%20This%20is%20done%20by%20filling%20a%20shallow%20dish%20with%20cold/ice%20water%20and%20then%20setting%20in%20the%20measuring%20cup%20filled%20with%20hot%20caramel%20apples%20in%20the%20cold%20water.%20%20Just%20be%20careful%20not%20to%20get%20any%20of%20the%20water%20into%20the%20caramel.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20Ice%20Cream%20Maker%20freezes%20in%20about%2025%20minutes.%20%20So%20at%20the%2020%20minute%20mark,%20I%20added%20in%20my%20cooled%20Caramel%20Apple%20mixture%20to%20the%20almost%20frozen%20mix.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBy%20the%20way,%20this%20caramel%20apple%20sauce%20would%20make%20an%20AMAZING%20Crepe%20filling%20or%20pancake%20topping%20or%20vanilla%20ice%20cream%20topping,%20or%20it%20could%20have%20any%20other%20number%20of%20delicious%20uses!%20%20It%20is%20just%20GOOD!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20the%20ice%20cream%20is%20done%20freezing,%20comes%20one%20last%20delicious%20step!%20%20I%20spooned%20about%204%20Tbls%20of%20Caramel%20Ice%20Cream%20Topping%20into%20the%20frozen%20Ice%20Cream%20and%20stirred%20around%20gently%20to%20form%20a%20Caramel%20Ribbon%20throughout%20the%20mix%E2%80%A6YUM!%20%20And%20then%20I%20licked%20the%20spoon%20after%20I%20was%20done%20with%20this%20step%20and%20I%20am%20INSISTING%20that%20you%20do%20the%20same!%20%20%20%20I%20then%20put%20my%20ice%20cream%20back%20into%20the%20freezer%20to%20finish%20freezing%20and%20to%20reach%20scoopability!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20made%20this%20ice%20cream%20at%20night%20and%20when%20morning%20came,%20I%20was%20eager%20to%20take%20some%20pictures%20for%20the%20blog%20using%20the%20morning%20light.%20%20My%20husband%20is%20my%20master%20taste%20tester,%20and%20it%20is%20a%20job%20that%20he%20takes%20very%20seriously!%20%20In%20fact,%20after%20I%20had%20finished%20photographing%20the%20ice%20cream,%20he%20was%20even%20willing%20to%20eat%20it%20for%20BREAKFAST%20so%20as%20not%20to%20waste%20it,%20and%20so%20that%20we%20could%20get%20a%20final%20taste%20verdict!%20%20HaHa%E2%80%A6at%20least%20that%20was%20what%20I%20told%20him%20I%20would%20say%20about%20him%20eating%20this%20ice%20cream%20for%20breakfast!%20%20%20I%20do%20think%20I%20have%20the%20most%20handsome%20taste%20tester%20around%E2%80%A6just%20saying!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20morning%20I%20took%20a%20few%20pictures%20of%20the%20ice%20cream%20without%20garnish%20so%20that%20you%20could%20see%20the%20ribbons%20of%20caramel%20and%20the%20small%20bites%20of%20apple.%20%20Later%20on%20after%20lunch,%20I%20had%20a%20little%20of%20this%20ice%20cream%20myself%20and%20discovered%20that%20a%20little%20extra%20caramel%20sauce%20on%20the%20top%20was%20the%20perfect%20finishing%20touch%20for%20this%20delicious%20fall%20treat!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EYeah%E2%80%A6this%20was%20really%20really%20good.%20%20In%20my%20opinion,%20you%20can%20never%20have%20too%20much%20caramel!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHappy%20Caramel%20Apple%20Ice%20Creaming!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
