Ingredientes

  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 3 T corn starch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 egg yolks, beaten
  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 3 T butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 9 inch baked pastry

Direcciones

  1. Heat 1/2 cup sugar and brown to a light, golden brown caramel color, don't brown too dark, or possibly it will burn.In the meantime, in a separate saucepan add in 1 cup sugar, 3 tbsp corn starch, 1/4 tsp salt and 3 beaten egg yolks. Gradually add in 2 cups lowfat milk. Cook till hot and add in egg yolks and cook till thick and boiling.
  2. Add in caramelized sugar SLOWLY to egg and lowfat milk mix. Cook 10 more min and add in butter and vanilla. Pour into pastry.
