  • Chana Dal – 100 gms, soaked for few hours, drained
  • Basmati Rice – 500 gms, soaked for 2 hours, drained
  • Green Chillies – 5, slit lengthwise
  • Tomatoes – 200 gms, chopped
  • Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Ghee – 2 1/2 tblsp
  • Asafoetida Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Bay Leaf – 2
  • Cloves – 6
  • Cinnamon – 2 inch piece
  • Curry Leaves – few
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
