%20I%20decided%20to%20take%20matters%20into%20my%20own%20hands%20and%20attempt%20to%20recreate%20more%20than%20just%20the%20wonderful%20memory%20of%20good%20friends%20enjoying%20a%20beautiful%20summer%20day%20in%20nature,%20I%20was%20going%20to%20recreate%20Darlene's%20muffins!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBecause%20I%20hadn't%20had%20the%20muffins%20since%20my%20age%20was%20a%20single%20digit,%20the%20first%20step%20in%20recreating%20%22the%20best%20blueberry%20muffins%20ever%22%20was%20finding%20a%20recipe%20that%20at%20least%20looked%20like%20Darlene's%20blueberry%20muffins.%20Pinterest%20came%20to%20rescue%20and%20led%20me%20to%20a%20recipe%20on%20the%20blog%20Yammie's%20Noshery%20that%20looked%20just%20like%20Darlene's.%20The%20interior%20image%20looked%20exactly%20like%20the%20pale%20and%20fluffy%20muffins%20that%20Justine%20loved%20so%20much,%20with%20the%20same%20blueberry-to-cake%20ratio,%20and%20even%20a%20light%20dusting%20of%20sugar%20on%20top%20just%20like%20Darlene's%20turbinado%20sugar%20topping.%20Though%20the%20muffins%20turned%20out%20quite%20tasty,%20they%20still%20need%20some%20work%20to%20get%20them%20near%20the%20caliber%20we%20were%20hoping%20for.%20The%20muffins%20were%20a%20little%20too%20sweet,%20a%20little%20too%20oily,%20and%20just%20a%20bit%20too%20dense.%20Although%20these%20muffins%20weren't%20the%20perfect%20ones%20we%20were%20hoping%20for,%20this%20recipe%20is%20a%20great%20start%20to%20begin%20playing%20with%20that%20I%20feel%20confident%20will%20eventually%20result%20in%20those%20muffins%20that%20Justine%20remembers%20so%20fondly.%20Below%20I%20have%20included%20a%20revised%20version%20of%20the%20Yammie's%20Noshery%20recipe%20based%20on%20my%20own%20personal%20feedback.%20Please%20note%20that%20I%20have%20not%20tested%20these%20alterations%20yet,%20I%20can%20make%20no%20promises%20on%20the%20result!%20Please%20give%20my%20revisions%20a%20try%20and%20let%20me%20know%20what%20you%20think!%20And%20Darlene,%20if%20you're%20reading%20this,%20care%20to%20share%20your%20beloved%20blueberry%20muffin%20recipe%20with%20the%20Rose%20girls?%20I%20think%20it's%20clear%20based%20on%20our%20almost%2020-year%20search%20for%20the%20perfect%20replica%20that%20we%20will%20be%20forever%20grateful!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESlightly%20adapted%20from%20Yammie's%20Noshery%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDirections:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20oven%20to%20375%C2%BAF.%20Grease%20a%20standard%20muffin%20tin%20or%20line%20with%20paper%20liners%20(or%20parchment%20paper%20as%20I%20did%20in%20the%20photo!).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20bowl%20combine%20the%20sugar,%20egg,%20oil,%20milk,%20and%20vanilla%20extract%20until%20well%20blended.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl%20stir%20together%20the%20sour%20cream%20with%20the%20baking%20powder%20until%20dissolved.%20Stir%20into%20the%20wet%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EStir%20the%20flour%20and%20salt%20into%20the%20wet%20ingredients%20until%20just%20combined.%20Stir%20in%20the%20blueberries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EEvenly%20pour%20the%20batter%20into%20the%20muffin%20tin%20about%203/4%20of%20the%20way%20up.%20Top%20each%20muffin%20with%20a%20sprinkle%20of%20turbinado%20sugar%20and%20bake%20for%2025-30%20minutes%20or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20into%20the%20centre%20comes%20out%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EListening%20To:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlanis%20Morissette%20-%20Hand%20In%20My%20Pocket%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
