Cheddar Cheese Spoon Bread

Ingredientes

  • 2 c. lowfat milk
  • 1 c. yellow cornmeal
  • 1 c. shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
  • 3 egg yolks, well beaten
  • 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten
  • 2 T melted butter

Direcciones

  1. Heat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 2 qt baking dish lightly. Scald lowfat milk in 3 qt saucepan over low heat. Add in butter and stir till melted. Add in cornmeal gradually; stir till thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in cheese till melted. Stir in 1 cup lowfat milk, salt, pepper, baking pwdr, egg yolks. Mix in egg whites. Pour into pan. Bake 1 hour or possibly till set. Makes 6 servings.
