,%20dried%20mushrooms%20and%20snails,%20and%20they%20sent%20me%20a%20selection%20of%20their%20produce.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20haven't%20tried%20all%20the%20products%20yet,%20but%20I%20have%20cooked%20the%20mushrooms%20in%20some%20risotto%20and%20they%20were%20very%20good%20quality.%20%20I%20decided%20to%20use%20the%20cherries%20in%20a%20Cherry%20and%20Almond%20Frangipane%20dessert.%20%20These%20cherries%20have%20had%20the%20stones%20removed%20and%20presented%20in%20a%20jar%20with%20a%20light%20juice.%20%20The%20juice%20and%20cherries%20are%20not%20particularly%20sweet%20which%20means%20you%20can%20regulate%20the%20sweetness%20yourself%20or%20even%20use%20them%20in%20savoury%20dishes.%20%20As%20I%20was%20making%20a%20dessert%20and%20wanted%20a%20slightly%20thicker%20and%20sweeter%20syrup,%20I%20heated%20the%20juice%20gently%20in%20a%20pan%20and%20added%20a%20teaspoon%20of%20cornflour%20slaked%20with%20a%20little%20water,%20once%20cooked%20out%20this%20created%20the%20texture%20of%20a%20cherry%20pie%20filling%20as%20shown%20in%20the%20first%20photograph.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECherry%20and%20Almond%20Frangipane%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.%20Put%20the%20juice%20from%20the%20cherries%20and%20the%20sugar%20in%20a%20pan%20and%20heat%20gently%20until%20the%20sugar%20has%20dissolved.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E3.%20Mix%20the%20cornflour%20with%20a%20little%20water%20and%20add%20to%20the%20warm,%20sweetened%20cherry%20juice%20and%20bring%20to%20a%20gentle%20boil.%20%20Cook%20for%202%20minutes,stirring%20all%20the%20time%20until%20the%20starch%20is%20cooked%20out.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Add%20the%20cherries%20to%20the%20sauce%20and%20place%20in%20a%20shallow%20dish,%20leave%20to%20cool%20slightly.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E4.%20Using%20an%20electric%20mixer%20or%20a%20wooden%20spoon,%20beat%20together%20the%20frangipane%20ingredients.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E5.%20Spoon%20the%20frangipane%20mixture%20over%20the%20cherries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E6.%20Bake%20at%20170C%20for%2020%20minutes%20until%20risen%20and%20golden%20brown.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E7.%20Serve%20with%20cream%20or%20greek%20yogurt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20very%20pleased%20with%20how%20the%20cherries%20worked%20with%20the%20frangipane.%20%20I've%20made%20a%20cherry%20frangipane%20before%20with%20fresh%20cherries%20but%20the%20bottled%20cherries%20had%20a%20lovely%20intensity%20of%20flavour%20and%20were%20a%20good%20contrast%20to%20the%20soft,%20almond%20sponge.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20supplied%20with%20these%20products%20by%20Sabarot%20for%20review.%20%20I%20was%20not%20paid%20for%20this%20post%20and%20all%20opinions%20are%20my%20own.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
