Cherry Sauce For Pancakes

Ingredientes

  • 1/4 c. sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 2 c. frzn unsweetened tart cherries thawed
  • 1/2 tsp almond extract
  • 1/2 tsp grnd cinnamon (optional)

Direcciones

  1. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cornstarch; mix well. Place water in a medium saucepan; stir in sugar mix. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Continue to cook, stirring, till thick and clear.
  2. Reduce heat. Stir in cherries, almond extract and cinnamon. Heat till cherries are warm. Serve over pancakes, French toast, waffles or possibly ice cream.
  3. Comments: One 16-oz can unsweetened tart cherries, well liquid removed, can be substituted for frzn tart cherries. Use the juice from cherries in place of water.
