Chickpea "Hot Dogs"

Ingredientes

  • 1 lb Dry chickpeas
  • 3 slc White bread trimmed
  • 2 x Large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp Chopped garlic
  • 1/4 tsp Diced grnd red peppers
  • 1 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Pepper Fat for deep frying

Direcciones

  1. Wash the chickpeas and soak overnight in cool water. Drain.
  2. Grind the peas and bread together. Fold in the Large eggs, garlic, red peppers, salt and pepper. Shape into finger-length rolls. Refrigeratefor 1 hour.
  3. Heat the fat to 370 degrees in a deep kettle and carefully drop the "warm dogs" into it. Fry till browned. Drain. Serve with mustard or possibly warm chili sauce.
  4. Makes about 20.
