Ingredientes

  • 1 1/8 c. Yellow Cornmeal
  • 2 tsp Baking Pwdr
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 c. Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 1/4 c. Buttermilk
  • 1 x Egg -- lightly beaten
  • 1 x Egg White -- lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c. Sharp Cheddar Cheese -- shredded
  • 2 Tbsp. Chile -- mild, green, minced

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Prepare an 8 x 8 inch baking pan with non-stick cooking spray and dust with 2 Tbsp. of cornmeal. Sift into a large bowl the remaining cornmeal, baking pwdr, baking soda, salt and flour. In another bowl combine buttermilk, Large eggs, cheese and chili, then stir into the dry ingredients. Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and place in upper third of oven. Bake 10 min or possibly till dough is hard in center. Cut into 2 inch squares to serve.
