Chilli Sesame Prawns Recipe
This Malaysian style Chilli Sesame Prawns is a great lunch time or dinner dish and goes well with rice.
Ingredients:
Red Chillies – 4 to 5, finely chopped
- Prawns – 225 gms, cleaned, shelled
- Chicken Stock – 1/4 cup
- Corn Flour – 1/2 tblsp, mixed with 1 1/2 tblsp of water
- Egg – 1, lightly beaten
- Sesame Seeds – 1/2 to 3/4 tsp
- Red Chilli Paste – 2 tblsp
- Tomato Sauce – 2 tblsp
- Soy Sauce – 1 1/2 tsp
- Sesame Oil – 1/2 tsp
- Sunflower Oil – 2 to 3 tblsp
- Garlic – 2 clove, minced
- Spring Onions – 2 tblsp, chopped (optional)
- Red Capsicum – 2 tblsp, chopped (optional)
Method:
1. Mix the chilli paste, tomato sauce, soy sauce and sesame oil in a bowl.
2. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
3. Add the red chillies and garlic.
4. Stir-fry for 30 to 45 seconds.
5. Add the chilli sauce and simmer for a minute.
6. Add the prawns to the pan, mix well and stir-fry for another minute.
7. Pour the stock and simmer for a minute or two.
8. Add the corn flour paste and beaten egg.
9. Cook until the sauce thickens and remove from flame.
10. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
11. Serve with rice.
