%20nick%20of%20time!%20They%20don't%20take%20too%20long%20to%20make%20and%20will%20keep%20a%20good%20few%20days%20in%20an%20airtight%20tin!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIts%20not%20often%20I%20make%20biscuits,%20in%20fact%20probably%20I%20can%20count%20on%20one%20hand%20the%20amount%20of%20times%20since%20school%20that%20I've%20baked%20proper%20biscuits%20requiring%20cutters%20but%20my%20dad%20had%20bought%20over%20a%20set%20of%20cutters%20and%20thought%20it%20was%20about%20time...the%20trouble%20is%20I%20am%20an%20inpatient%20baker%20and%20I%20also%20share%20my%20kitchen%20with%20a%20stranger%20..so%20leaving%20dusty%20work%20tops%20has%20to%20be%20planned%20around%20when%20I%20know%20they%20are%20out!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBack%20in%20October%20time%20I%20had%20snagged%20a%20biscuit%20recipe%20from%20a%20Tesco%20instore%20magazine%20for%20Bat%20cookies%20which%20topped%20with%20chocolate%20for%20Halloween%20but%20I%20decided%20to%20tweak%20very%20slightly%20and%20add%20a%20little%20cardamom%20to%20give%20it%20a%20slightly%20spicy,%20Christmas%20feel.%20For%20some%20reason%20whenever%20I%20write%20down%20the%20word%20Cardamom%20it%20just%20doesn't%20feel%20right.%20I%20even%20spell%20checked%20it%20to%20make%20sure!%20I%20feel%20like%20it%20needs%20a%20'n'%20in%20there%20somewhere!%20Anyone%20else%20feel%20this%20way%20too?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20first%20batch%20of%20these%20biscuits%20were%20made%20to%20take%20over%20to%20one%20of%20my%20lovely%20Auntie%20and%20Uncle's%20house%20in%20a%20long%20overdue%20visit%20-%20I%20do%20hope%20they%20like%20them!%20As%20it%20was,%20I%20hadn't%20used%20all%20the%20dough%20as%20ran%20out%20of%20baking%20sheets%20(I%20have%20one)%20so%20kept%20the%20remaining%20dough%20for%20a%20few%20days%20chilled%20-%20and%20it%20worked%20perfectly%20still%20then!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAs%20you%20can%20see%20my%20icing%20skills%20are%20limited%20but%20I%20quite%20like%20my%20crazy%20reindeers!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eedible%20glitter%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMethod:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20the%20butter%20and%20sugar%20together,%20(I%20used%20a%20hand%20mixer)%20until%20creamy%20and%20fluffy,%20then%20beat%20in%20the%20egg%20and%20syrup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESeparately%20sieve%20together%20the%20flour,%20spices%20and%20fold%20into%20the%20butter%20mixture.%20Wrap%20in%20cling%20film%20and%20chill%20for%20an%20hour.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERoll%20out%20onto%20a%20lightly%20floured%20surface,%20to%20the%20depth%20of%20a%20pound%20coin%20and%20cut%20with%20desired%20cutters.%20Bake%20for%2012-14%20minutes%20or%20until%20just%20turning%20golden%20brown%20-%20they%20should%20be%20very%20slightly%20soft%20to%20touch.%20Cool%20on%20tray%20for%20about%20ten%20minutes%20then%20transfer%20to%20a%20wire%20sheet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhen%20you%20are%20ready%20to%20decorate,%20sieve%20the%20icing%20sugar%20and%20slowly%20add%20a%20teaspoon%20at%20a%20time%20of%20water%20until%20you%20have%20a%20smooth%20mixture,%20either%20spoon%20into%20a%20icing%20bag%20or%20use%20a%20small%20spoon%20to%20decorate.%20Then%20go%20nuts%20with%20the%20sprinkles%20as%20you%20desire!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWith%20a%20little%20practice%20my%20tree's%20came%20out%20quite%20pretty%20-%20plus%20a%20sprinkle%20of%20edible%20glitter%20never%20goes%20amiss%20at%20Christmas!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMerry%20Christmas%20everyone!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnne%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Exx%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
