%20There%20was%20a%20delicious%20article%20on%20using%20up%20your%20Christmas%20lunch%20leftovers.%20Tristan%20Welch,%20head%20chef%20of%20Launceston%20Place%20had%20what%20looked%20to%20be%20a%20lovely%20recipe%20for%20this%20interestingly%20different%20sounding%20trifle%20and%20I%20just%20had%20to%20try%20it.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHis%20was%20beautifully%20presented%20in%20200ml%20canning%20jars,%20each%20one%20tied%20up%20with%20a%20pretty%20red%20ribbon.%20I%20didn't%20have%20any%20canning%20jars,%20and%20I%20only%20wanted%20to%20make%20a%20half%20recipe%20for%20this%20trial%20and%20so%20I%20just%20used%20some%20200ml%20ramekins%20with%20great%20success.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWithout%20a%20doubt,%20hands%20down%20.%20.%20.%20this%20has%20to%20be%20the%20most%20delicious%20Trifle%20ever!%20There%20is%20just%20enough%20Christmas%20Pudding%20in%20it%20to%20give%20you%20a%20gentle%20hint%20of%20spicy%20flavour,%20without%20it%20going%20over%20the%20top.%20I%20don't%20think%20any%20die%20hard%20Christmas%20Pudding%20hater%20would%20be%20assaulted%20by%20it%20in%20the%20least%20.%20.%20.%20don't%20even%20tell%20them%20it's%20there.%20They%20probably%20won't%20even%20notice%20what%20it%20is,%20and%20even%20if%20they%20do,%20they%20will%20forgive%20you%20because%20it%20is%20that%20delicious%20that%20they%20will%20wonder%20how%20they%20ever%20got%20by%20in%20life%20without%20it%20thus%20far!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EImagine%20a%20rich%20custard,%20baked%20until%20slightly%20wobbly,%20atop%20some%20scrummy%20Christmas%20Pudding%20.%20.%20.%20chilled%20and%20then%20topped%20with%20crushed%20amaretti%20biscuits,%20brandy%20whipped%20cream,%20toasted%20flaked%20almonds%20and%20a%20few%20silver%20balls%20.%20.%20.%20yes%20.%20.%20.%20this%20is%20heaven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20conversation%20will%20stop%20.%20.%20.%20amidst%20the%20sighs%20and%20satisfied%20drooling%20noises%20.%20.%20.%20this%20is%20a%20winner,%20pure%20and%20simple,%20and%20it%20will%20deffo%20be%20gracing%20my%20Christmas%20Lunch%20buffet!%20Nothing%20could%20be%20easier%20or%20tastier!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*Christmas%20Pudding%20Trifle*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EServes%206%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20delicious%20trifle%20which%20consists%20of%20a%20lovely%20rich%20custard%20baked%20over%20top%20of%20some%20crumbled%20Christmas%20pudding%20until%20wobbly.%20Chilled%20and%20then%20covered%20with%20amaretti%20biscuits,%20brandy%20cream,%20flaked%20almonds%20and%20silver%20balls,%20this%20is%20probably%20one%20of%20the%20nicest%20trifles%20I've%20ever%20eaten%20.%20.%20.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESilver%20balls%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20the%20oven%20to%20110*C/225*F/%20gas%20mark%201/4.%20Place%206%20200ml%20containers%20on%20a%20baking%20tray.%20Crumble%20some%20Christmas%20Pudding%20into%20the%20bottom%20of%20each.%20You%20can%20use%20as%20much%20as%20you%20want.%20I%20crumbled%20about%201%20TBS%20of%20the%20stuff%20into%20each%20container,%20so%20that%20it%20was%20about%201/2%20inch%20deep.%20Set%20aside.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHeat%20the%20milk%20and%20double%20cream%20together,%20along%20with%20a%20grating%20of%20nutmeg,%20just%20to%20the%20boil.%20Whisk%20the%20egg%20yolks%20and%20sugar%20together%20until%20pale.%20Whisk%20in%20the%20heated%20milk%20mixture,%20whisking%20constantly.%20Strain%20this%20mixture%20into%20the%20prepared%20pots,%20dividing%20it%20equally%20amongst%20them.%20Grate%20a%20little%20more%20nutmeg%20on%20top.%20Bake%20in%20the%20heatred%20oven%20for%2030%20to%2040%20minutes,%20just%20until%20set.%20The%20centre%20should%20still%20have%20a%20slight%20wobble.%20Remove%20from%20the%20oven.%20Cool%20to%20room%20temperature%20and%20then%20chill%20in%20the%20refrigerator%20for%20a%20couple%20of%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJust%20before%20serving,%20whip%20the%20cream%20softly%20along%20with%20a%20dash%20of%20brandy,%20or%20brandy%20flavouring.%20Crumble%202%20amaretti%20biscuits%20over%20top%20of%20each%20pudding,%20then%20top%20with%20some%20whipped%20brandy%20cream.%20Sprinkle%20some%20toasted%20almonds%20and%20silver%20balls%20over%20top%20of%20each%20and%20serve.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
