,%20I%20drove%20through%20rows%20upon%20rows%20of%20corn%20fields%20in%20Woodland,%20CA%20on%20the%20way%20to%20my%20office.%20%20On%20my%20way%20home%20I%20would%20stop%20at%20a%20little%20stand%20on%20the%20side%20of%20the%20road%20and%20pick%20up%2010%20ears%20for%20a%20dollar.%20%20Usually%20these%20precious%20ears%20had%20been%20picked%20within%20the%20hour%20and%20were%20still%20warm%20from%20the%20sun.%20%20I%20didn't%20know%20how%20lucky%20I%20was%20to%20have%20that%20little%20stand%20until%20I%20moved%20away%20and%20could%20only%20get%20corn%20in%20the%20produce%20section%20of%20the%20local%20Kroger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFast%20forward%2015%20years%20and%20I%20am%20back%20in%20California%20with%20endless%20Farmer's%20Markets%20to%20choose%20from%20and%20tables%20upon%20tables%20of%20corn.%20%20While%20these%20ears%20have%20been%20picked%20a%20bit%20more%20than%20an%20hour%20prior,%20they%20are%20still%20crisp%20and%20fresh.%20%20Todays%20market%20booty%20included%20a%20mixed%20bag%20of%20yellow%20an%20white%20corn%20from%20my%20favorite%20corn%20vendor%20at%20the%20Vista%20Farmer's%20Market.%20%20His%20table%20was%20piled%20high%20with%20ears%20that%20we%20eagerly%20packed%20up%20along%20with%20a%20handful%20of%20other%20goodies%20(zucchini%20&%20mushrooms).%20%20As%20we%20meandered%20on%20we%20discovered%20a%20vendor%20whose%20table%20was%20filled%20with%20numerous%20varieties%20of%20crisp%20and%20colorful%20peppers.%20%20The%20sunny%20yellow%20and%20orange%20Fresnos,%20shapely%20poblanos%20and%20spicy%20jalape%C3%B1os%20were%20added%20to%20our%20treasures.%20%20Fresh,%20brilliant%20green,%20organic%20cilantro%20was%20found%20a%20few%20tables%20down%20and%20our%20salad%20ingredients%20were%20complete.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESometimes%20I%20am%20amazed%20how%20just%20a%20few%20ingredients%20can%20combine%20to%20become%20something%20so%20extraordinary.%20%20Cilantro%20Lime%20Corn%20is%20just%20that,%20a%20side%20dish%20bursting%20with%20amazing%20flavor.%20%20These%206%20ingredients%20whip%20together%20in%20a%20flash%20and%20would%20be%20equally%20as%20delicious%20hot%20or%20cold.%20%20The%20lime%20adds%20a%20delightful%20tang%20that%20ties%20together%20the%20poblano%20and%20corn,%20accented%20by%20the%20cilantro.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAll%20in%20all,%20I%20think%20I%20have%20to%20say%20this%20is%20one%20of%20the%20most%20successful%20recipes%20from%20our%202010%20summer%20season!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECilantro%20Lime%20Corn%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHusk%20the%20corn%20and%20lay%20on%20a%20hot%20grill,%20turning%20occasionally%20to%20obtain%20grill%20marks%20evenly%20over%20the%20cob.%20%20Cut%20poblano%20pepper%20in%20half%20and%20grill%20along%20with%20the%20corn.%20%20When%20done%20remove%20the%20corn%20and%20pepper%20from%20the%20grill,%20placing%20the%20pepper%20pieces%20in%20a%20plastic%20bag%20for%2010%20minutes.%20%20When%20corn%20is%20cool%20enough%20to%20handle,%20cut%20the%20kernels%20from%20the%20cob%20into%20a%20medium%20bowl.%20%20Add%20butter%20while%20corn%20is%20still%20hot%20and%20stir.%20%20Remove%20peppers%20from%20bag%20and%20peel%20off%20the%20charred%20skins.%20%20Chop%20the%20pepper%20pieces%20and%20add%20to%20the%20bowl.%20%20Add%20chopped%20cilantro%20and%20pressed%20garlic,%20using%20more%20or%20less%20according%20to%20your%20taste.%20%20Add%20lime%20juice,%20salt%20and%20pepper,%20and%20stir%20to%20combine.%20%20Taste%20and%20adjust%20seasonings%20to%20taste.%20%20Serve%20warm%20or%20cold.%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
