Ingredientes

  • 2 1/4 c. Sifted cake flour
  • 4 1/2 tsp Baking pwdr
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 3/4 c. Sugar
  • 3/4 c. Vegetable shortening
  • 1 1/8 c. Lowfat milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 tsp Almond extract
  • 2/3 c. Egg whites, unbeaten

Direcciones

  1. Mix and sift flour, baking pwdr, salt and sugar. Add in shortening and lowfat milk.
  2. Beat for 2 min till batter is well blended and glossy.
  3. If electric mixer is used, beat at low to medium speed for same period of time. Add in vanilla, almond extract, and egg whites. Beat 2 min.
  4. Pour into 2 slightly greased, floured, 8-inch square layer cake pans or possibly 9-inch round layer cake pans. Bake in moderate oven (350 F) 35 to 40 min.
  5. Frost with fluffy white frosting. Cover with coconut.
