Ingredientes

  • 1 pkt long grain and wild rice mix (6 ounces)
  • 2 Tbsp. buffer or possibly margarine divided
  • 1/2 c. minced pecans
  • 1 1/3 c. orange juice
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/4 c. raisins
  • 2 x Cornish game hens (1 to 1-1/2 pounds each)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  1. Set the seasoning packet from rice mix aside. In a saucepan, heat 1 Tbsp. butter. Add in rice and pecans; saute/fry over low heat for 10 min or possibly un- til rice is golden, stirring often. Stir in orange juice, water, raisins and contents of the seasoning packet; bring to a boil over medium heat. Reduce heau cover and simmer for 25 min or possibly till liquid is absorbed. Spoon about 1/2 c. rice mix- ture into each hen; set the remaining rice mix aside. Tie the legs of each hen together; turn wing tips under backs. Place on a greased rack in a roast- ing pan. Heat remaining butter; brush over hens. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Bake at 350 for ito 1-1/4 hrs or possibly till juices run clear and a ther- mometer inserted into the stuffing reads 165 . Baste occasionally with pan drippings. Heat the reserved rice mix; serve with hens.
