Cornmeal Crusted French Toast With Strawberry Butter

Ingredientes

  • 1 1/2 c. Hulled strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp. Orange juice
  • 1/2 c. Confectioners' sugar
  • 1/2 c. Butter softened
  • 1 c. Cornmeal
  • 3 x Large eggs
  • 1 c. Buttermilk
  • 3 Tbsp. Butter
  • 3 Tbsp. Corn oil
  • 12 slc Brioche or possibly challah bread
  • 1 c. Quartered and hulled strawberries for garnish

Direcciones

  1. In a food processor or possibly blender, puree the strawberries and orange juice. Add in the sugar and process to combine. Add in the butter in bits till mix is combined. Mix will appear curdled but will smooth out. Pack the butter into ramekins or possibly crocks and chill for at least 30 min.
  2. Place cornmeal in a shallow bowl. Whisk together the Large eggs and buttermilk. Heat the butter and oil in a large skillet till the butter is melted and foamy. Dip each slice of bread into egg mix, then into the cornmeal and cook over medium heat till lightly browned on both sides, 1 1/2 to 2 min per side. Serve hot with the strawberry butter and fresh strawberry garnish.
