- 2 cups wide egg noodles
- 2 cups milk, divided

%20And%20chili%20was%20a%20lost%20cause%20since%20half%20of%20my%20children%20don%E2%80%99t%20eat%20beans.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20year%20is%20different.%20My%20kids%20are%20buying%20into%20the%20healing%20properties%20of%20soup.%20I%20keep%20telling%20them%20it%E2%80%99s%20great%20for%20sore%20throats,%20perfect%20for%20cold%20feet,%20it%20makes%20you%20big,%20it%20makes%20you%20strong,%20it%E2%80%99s%20cheap!!%20And%20there%20is%20quite%20a%20bit%20of%20truth%20to%20all%20of%20that.%20Therefore,%20as%20the%20first%20sickness%20of%20the%20season%20ripped%20through%20our%20house%20this%20past%20week,%20my%20daughter%20(soup%20doubter%20extraordinaire)%20asked%20for%20chicken%20noodle%20soup.%20It%20was%20received%20with%20rave%20reviews%20and%20they%20even%20ate%20it%20again%20for%20lunch%20the%20next%20day.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ESo,%20I%20am%20hopeful%20that%20this%20is%20just%20the%20first%20of%20many%20soups%20for%20the%20season.%20Hooray%20for%20soup!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECreamy%20Chicken%20Noodle%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIngredients%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInstructions%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20large%20dutch%20oven%20or%20heavy%20bottomed%20pot%20melt%20butter%20of%20medium%20high%20heat.%20Add%20onion,%20celery%20and%20carrot.%20Cook%20until%20slightly%20softened,%20about%205%20minutes.%20Add%20in%20potato,%20chicken%20base,%20chicken%20broth,%20and%20basil.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECover,%20reduce%20heat%20and%20simmer%20for%20about%2020%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20potato%20and%20carrot%20are%20tender.%20Add%20in%20chicken,%20salt%20and%20pepper,%20and%20egg%20noodles.%20Cook%20for%205-8%20minutes%20or%20until%20the%20noodles%20are%20tender.Stir%20in%201%20cup%20of%20milk,%20bring%20to%20a%20simmer.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20a%20small%20bowl%20whisk%20together%20the%20remaining%20milk%20and%20flour%20and%20then%20slowly%20stir%20into%20the%20soup.%20Stir%20until%20soup%20thickens.%20Serve%20with%20crackers%20or%20crusty%20bread.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E2.2%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehttp://eatinonthecheap.com/2013/09/27/creamy-chicken-noodle/%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
