Ingredientes

  • 2/3 c. solid vegetable shortening
  • 1/2 c. butter room temperature (1 stick)
  • 2 c. firmly packed golden sugar
  • 1 x egg
  • 1 tsp cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 c. rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 c. all purpose flour Sugar

Direcciones

  1. Preheat oven to 350F. Using electric mixer, cream shortening, butter and sugar till fluffy. Blend in egg, vinegar, baking soda and salt. Fold in oats, then flour. Form dough into 1 1/2-inch balls. Space balls 2 inches
  2. apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Dip flat-bottom glass into sugar.
  3. Press glass onto dough ball and flatten into 1/3-inch-thick cookie.
  4. Repeat with remaining dough balls. Bake till just golden on edges,
  5. about 16 min. Transfer to racks and cold completely. (Can be prepared 4 days ahead. Store cookies in airtight container.)
  6. Makes 3 dozen.
