- Into heated oil, fry onion, garlic and spices for 2 mins.
- Mix chili and turmeric powder with water for a thick paste.
- Add paste into fried ingredients.
- Continue to fry and stir till oil splits.
- Put in potatoes, curry leaves, garam masala, tamarind juice and salt.
- Pour enough water to cover the ingredients.
- Stir and let it cook till potatoes are soft and gravy thickens.
- Remove from heat.
