.%20In%20fact,%20her%20doctor%20says%20he's%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Enever%20seen%20anyone%20recover%20so%20quickly%20from%20such%20a%20major%20surgery!%20;-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EB&D%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ereally%20get%20into%20the%20Holiday%20spirit;%20they%20are%20notorious%20for%20putting%20up%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esometimes%20as%20many%20as%207%20Christmas%20trees%20around%20their%20home!%20Eeek!%20But%20this%20year,%20with%20Barbara's%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esurgery%20and%20their%20new%20furry%20daughter%20Chai,%20they%20decided%20to%20stick%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emostly%20to%20lights%20and%20little%20festive%20decorations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERaw%20Potluck%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eday%20after%20our%20arrival%20VSU%20held%20a%20raw%20potluck%20at%20Barbara%20and%20Duane's%20lovely%20home.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThey%20were%20a%20wonderful%20bunch%20and%20I%20had%20lots%20of%20fun%20demoing%20two%20big%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efavorites:%20my%20Strawberry%20Banana%20Shake%20and%20Sweet%20Pea%20Soup.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMy%20little%20elves%20getting%20the%20samplers%20ready.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20again%20VSU%20members%20really%20outdid%20themselves%20and%20got%20very%20creative%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewith%20their%20dish%20contributions,%20even%20though%20raw%20is%20very%20new%20to%20many%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethem.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EKevin%20Kirkland,%20a%20gentleman%20who%20is%20just%20opening%20a%20smoothie%20bar%20in%20St-George%20called%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETruBerry,%20brought%20a%20couple%20of%20samples%20of%20his%20concoctions%20for%20us%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etry.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ETru%20Green%20Smoothie%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Elonger%20to%20soften.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20place%20all%20ingredients,%20including%20the%20water%20in%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewhich%20the%20fruit%20pieces%20are%20soaking,%20in%20the%20jar%20of%20a%20blender%20or%20a%20food%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eprocessor.%20Puree%20the%20mixture,%20adding%20more%20water%20as%20needed%20to%20yield%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efine-grained%20pudding-like%20consistency.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20the%20chutney%20to%20stand%20for%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efew%20minutes%20before%20transferring%20it%20to%20a%20serving%20bowl%20for%20storage,%20or%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eclean%20glass%20jars%20for%20gifts.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20chutney%20will%20keep%20for%20several%20weeks%20if%20refrigerated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20on%20the%20sweet%20side...%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere's%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ean%20older%20gentleman%20named%20Frank%20who%20is%20a%20member%20of%20VSU.%20At%20every%20potluck%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ehe%20proudly%20brings%20his%20very%20own%20creation:%20a%20raw%20pie%20made%20from%20almonds,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edates,%20blackberries,%20raspberries%20and%20blueberries.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EChocolate%20Nut%20Balls%20made%20from%20walnuts,%20almonds,%20cranberries,%20raisins%20and%20cacao%20powder.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewas%20my%20personal%20favorite%20brought%20by%20a%20lovely%20lady%20named%20Hazna.%20It%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Estarted%20off%20as%20a%20raw%20apple%20pie%20that%20she%20got%20from%20a%20lady%20named%20April%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFazini.%20She%20then%20modified%20it%20by%20adding%20mango,%20pineapple%20and%20persimmon%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Efolded%20into%20a%20yummy%20cream%20made%20with%20cashews,%20almond%20milk%20creme%20sauce%20and%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esweet%20potato.%20Decadent;%20I%20even%20had%202%20servings!%20;-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThere%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewas%20also%20a%20delicious%20Chocolate%20Pudding%20but%20I%20didn't%20get%20a%20chance%20to%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Etake%20a%20pic%20as%20the%20dish%20arrived%20while%20I%20was%20doing%20the%20demo.%20BUT%20you%20can%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Esee%20it%20at%20the%20bottom%20right%20corner%20of%20Don's%20plate.%20It%20was%20made%20with%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ecoconut%20meat,%20agave,%20maple%20syrup,%20raw%20cacao%20powder,%20carob,%20vanilla%20and%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Epinch%20of%20salt.%20Gina%20served%20it%20with%20fresh%20raspberries.%20Yum!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELet's%20munch!%20Yay!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ewas%20my%20serving.%20I'm%20such%20a%20foodie;%20I%20had%20a%20hard%20time%20not%20trying%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Elittle%20of%20every%20dish.%20As%20a%20result%20I%20momentarily%20forgot%20that%20it%20had%20been%20less%20than%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eweek%20since%20I%20was%20eating%20solid%20food%20again.%20I%20later%20had%20to%20pay%20the%20price,%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Eas%20my%20belly%20complained%20about%20this%20mistreatment.%20As%20good%20as%20it%20tasted%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Ethis%20feast%20ended%20up%20sending%20me%20on%20a%20downward%20spiral%20in%20terms%20of%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Edigestion.%20In%20the%20end%20I%20had%20to%20go%20back%20to%20liquid%20foods%20to%20give%20my%20body%20a%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Echance%20to%20recover.%20In%20fact,%20I'm%20still%20not%20totally%20back%20to%20normal%20yet.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E*sigh*%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EA%20few%20of%20us%20stayed%20quite%20late%20after%20the%20meal%20as%20we%20were%20all%20caught%20up%20in%20interesting%20conversations.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EGreg%20and%20Mark,%20two%20super%20nice%20men%20I%20had%20met%20at%20the%20last%20raw%20potluck%20that%20Barbara%20held%20here.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDonnie%20caught%20Pu%20and%20I%20the%20next%20morning%20while%20we%20slept%20in.%20;-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBefore%20we%20left%20we%20had%20a%20little%20photo%20shoot%20with%20Barbara%20and%20Duane.%20;-)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBarbara%20had%20the%20idea%20to%20get%20some%20family%20shots%20with%20Miss%20Puss,%20something%20that%20we%20don't%20really%20have.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20hope%20you%20too%20had%20a%20wonderful%20Holiday%20Season%20filled%20with%20joy,%20radiance%20and%20beautiful%20people!%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
