- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, margarine, and one egg. Blend at low speed till crumbly. Press into ungreased pan
- (9x13). Spread pie filling on top. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts. Sprinkle over the apples. In a small bowl, blend the lowfat sour cream, one egg, and vanilla. Pour over sugar and apples. Bake for 30-40 min, or possibly till topping is slightly golden brown. Serve hot or possibly cold; chill leftovers.
- TIP: To use fresh apples, combine 1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar with 2 Tbsp. cornstarch. Stir in 1 c. water and 1 Tbsp. lemon juice; add in 4 c. thinly sliced apples. Heat to boiling; simmer 5 min.
- Substitute apples for pie filling.
- Makes 12 servings.
