%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EToday%20I%20couldn't%20wait%20to%20get%20in%20the%20kitchen!%20Kyleigh%20didn't%20get%20to%20school%20today%20since%20she%20has%20a%20cold.%20You%20know%20Kyleigh%20isn't%20feeling%20good%20when%20she%20says%20she%20needs%20to%20stay%20home%20from%20school--while%20that%20may%20be%20characteristic%20of%20any%20kid%20(faking%20sick%20to%20stay%20home)%20Kyleigh%20is%20the%20complete%20opposite%20and%20NEVER%20wants%20to%20miss%20school%20for%20anything!%20So%20anyway,%20both%20girls%20went%20down%20for%20an%20early%20nap%20and%20it%20was%20playtime%20for%20Mama%20in%20the%20kitchen!%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20re-discovered%20some%20chocolate%20covered%20espresso%20beans%20I%20had%20yet%20to%20use....or%20eat,%20for%20that%20matter.%20:)%20I%20was%20thinking%20of%20espresso%20beans%20and%20talking%20out-loud%20about%20ideas.%20Then%20the%20combination%20became%20clear.%20I%20wanted%20to%20do%20a%20chocolate%20coffee%20cake,%20topped%20with%20coffee%20liqueur%20frosting,%20drizzled%20with%20some%20homemade%20salted%20caramel%20sauce%20(I%20made%20that%20Wednesday%20or%20Thursday),%20sprinkled%20with%20some%20crushed%20up%20chocolate%20covered%20espresso%20beans,%20and%20then%20finally%20topped%20with%20one%20whole%20covered%20bean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EReaders,%20meet%20Java%20Jive.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAlright,%20now%20that%20you've%20seen%20what%20I%20ended%20up%20with,%20let's%20hit%20rewind%20so%20I%20can%20tell%20you%20how%20I%20got%20there.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20found%20some%20dark%20chocolate%20covered%20espresso%20beans%20lurking%20in%20my%20house%20and%20some%20coffee%20liqueur%20in%20my%20kitchen.%20Coffee%20+%20coffee%20=%20good%20match.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EFirst,%20I%20whisked%20together%20flour,%20baking%20powder,%20unsweetened%20cocoa%20powder,%20and%20Himalayan%20pink%20salt.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20it%20was%20time%20for%20the%20%22wet%22%20ingredients.%20Into%20the%20bowl%20of%20my%20stand%20mixer%20went%20some%20eggs%20and%20granulated%20sugar.%20While%20this%20was%20being%20whisked%20together,%20in%20a%20liquid%20measuring%20cup,%20I%20combined%20cooled%20brewed%20coffee,%20heavy%20cream,%20and%20cooking%20oil.%20After%20the%20eggs%20and%20sugar%20were%20well%20combined,%20I%20added%20the%20coffee%20mixture.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EOnce%20everything%20was%20combined%20nicely%20(the%20above%20picture),%20I%20added%20in%20the%20flour%20mixture%20and%20a%20little%20vanilla%20extract%20and%20whisked%20until%20combined%20(pictured%20below).%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20lined%20the%20muffin%20pan%20with%20my%20new%20fun%20cupcake%20baking%20cups%20and%20popped%20it%20into%20the%20preheated%20oven.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20was%20psyched%20when%20they%20came%20out%20looking%20so%20perfectly%20delicious!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnd%20so%20moist%20and%20spongy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ENow%20to%20go%20about%20the%20frosting.%20I%20knew%20what%20I%20wanted%20to%20end%20up%20with,%20I%20just%20wasn't%20initially%20sure%20how%20to%20get%20there.%20So,%20I%20dove%20right%20in%20and%20never%20looked%20back.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EInto%20the%20bowl%20of%20my%20stand%20mixer%20went%20some%20more%20heavy%20cream,%20the%20coffee%20liqueur,%20more%20vanilla%20extract,%20some%20confectioners'%20sugar,%20and%20a%20little%20cream%20of%20tartar.%20I%20whisked%20that%20until%20I%20got%20to%20a%20consistency%20I%20was%20happy%20with.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAfter%20testing%20the%20quality%20of%20the%20product%20(%20;%20and%20I%20was%20completely%20sure%20it%20was%20worthy%20of%20the%20scrumptious%20cakes,%20I%20iced%20the%20little%20cuties--the%20cupcakes.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ERemember%20I%20said%20I%20made%20Salted%20Caramel%20Sauce%20earlier%20this%20week?%20That%20sinfully%20awful%20yet%20undeniably%20sweet%20and%20salty%20goodness%20got%20drizzled%20on%20top%20of%20my%20newest%20creation.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThen%20I%20crushed%20up%20a%20handful%20of%20dark%20chocolate%20covered%20espresso%20beans%20and%20sprinkled%20the%20pieces%20overtop%20of%20the%20cupcakes.%20Then%20I%20topped%20that%20off%20with%20a%20whole%20covered%20bean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECoffee%20deliciousness%20wrapped%20up%20in%20a%20cute%20Cupcake%20wrapper.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20had%20so%20much%20fun%20setting%20up%20the%20picture%20for%20the%20cupcake%20that%20I%20might%20have%20gotten%20a%20little%20carried%20away%20with%20taking%20pictures.%20:)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EJava%20Jive%20Cupcakes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3Emakes%20about%2019%20cupcakes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20this%20last%20picture,%20there%20is%20a%20bird%20in%20the%20background.%20As%20I%20was%20taking%20this%20shot,%20a%20robin%20was%20walking%20around%20under%20the%20bushes%20and%20got%20in%20the%20shot.%20:)%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
