In 1886, the "Durango Beer and Ice
Company", changed its name to "Durango Brewing Company, and is now the third oldest microbrewery in Colorado. It is a small establishment; the type of place where you are treated equally whether a local or a visitor to Durango. There is no pretentiousness, and none of that, "you're not a local, so we can't be bothered to serve you" which is definitely what we experienced at another Colorado establishment in Dolores. %20247-3396%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWebsite:%20http://www.durangobrewing.com%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%201886,%20%20the%20%22Durango%20Beer%20and%20Ice%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECompany%22,%20%20changed%20its%20name%20to%20%22Durango%20Brewing%20Company,%20and%20is%20now%20the%20third%20oldest%20microbrewery%20in%20Colorado.%20It%20is%20a%20small%20establishment;%20the%20type%20of%20place%20where%20you%20are%20treated%20equally%20whether%20a%20local%20or%20a%20visitor%20to%20Durango.%20There%20is%20no%20pretentiousness,%20and%20none%20of%20that,%20%22you're%20not%20a%20local,%20so%20we%20can't%20be%20bothered%20to%20serve%20you%22%20which%20is%20definitely%20what%20we%20experienced%20at%20another%20Colorado%20establishment%20in%20Dolores.%20%20We%20stopped%20by%20at%20around%201:30%20pm%20on%20a%20Sunday,%20there%20were%20a%20few%20people%20in%20the%20patio%20area%20and%20inside;%20when%20we%20left%20around%203pm%20it%20had%20become%20quite%20busier.%20%20We%20seated%20ourselves,%20but%20a%20waitress%20came%20over%20immediately%20to%20take%20our%20drink%20orders.%20%20My%20hubby%20had%20a%20%22Durango%20Dark%22%20which%20he%20said%20was%20smooth,%20rich,%20creamy,%20a%20slight%20hint%20of%20chocolate,%20not%20very%20hoppy%20and%20absolutely%20delicious.%20%20The%20only%20non-alcoholic%20beverages%20are%20bottled%20iced%20teas%20or%20Zuberfizz%20sodas,%20and%20water%20of%20course.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20food%20menu%20is%20not%20large,%20and%20that%20ends%20up%20being%20a%20very%20good%20thing;%20what%20they%20do%20make%20is%20great!%20%20We%20began%20with%20the%20Buffalo%20Wings;%20deep%20fried,%20not%20baked%20with%20celery%20sticks%20and%20ranch%20dressing%20(bleu%20cheese%20also%20available).%20%20A%20perfect%20start%20off%20for%20wing%20lovers!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThe%20waitress%20was%20very%20down%20to%20earth,%20pleasant%20and%20answered%20all%20our%20questions;%20again%20whether%20a%20local%20or%20visitor,%20she%20treated%20everyone%20well%20and%20checked%20to%20make%20sure%20we%20were%20all%20happy.%20%20At%20first%20I%20was%20going%20to%20order%20a%20burger,%20but%20spied%20the%20%22Brew%20House%20Brat%22%20on%20the%20menu.%20%20An%20El%20Dorado%20Cattle%20Company%20bratwurst%20made%20with%20Amber%20Ale,%20served%20with%20sauerkraut%20and%20pub%20chips.%20%20Oh%20my%20goodness,%20I%20ate%20the%20whole%20thing!%20%20The%20brat%20snapped%20when%20you%20bit%20into%20it%20and%20so%20juicy;%20the%20sauerkraut%20was%20fried%20up,%20not%20cold;%20the%20pub%20chips%20were%20out%20of%20this%20world...crispy%20on%20the%20outside%20with%20a%20soft%20center,%20no%20ketchup%20needed!%20%20My%20mouth%20is%20watering%20just%20thinking%20about%20it!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EHubby%20ordered%20the%20%22DBC%20Pub%20Burger%22,%20a%201/3%20pound%20burger%20made%20with%20Texas%20Longhorn%20beef%20from%20the%20El%20Dorado%20Cattle%20Company%20(all%20DBC's%20meat%20menu%20items%20are%20from%20there)%20which%20comes%20with%20lettuce,%20tomato,%20pickles,%20red%20onion%20and%20your%20choice%20of%20cheese%20(hubby%20chose%20Cheddar);%20extra%20toppings%20can%20be%20purchased.%20%20This%20is%20a%20%22Wow%22%20burger;%20large%20and%20in%20charge,%20juicy,%20perfectly%20cooked%20(medium-well),%20not%20dry%20and%20packed%20with%20charcoal%20flavor%20from%20the%20grill.%20%20The%20kitchen%20is%20small,%20so%20we%20were%20able%20to%20see%20the%20flare%20up%20of%20the%20grill%20at%20one%20point,%20so%20knew%20when%20the%20menu%20said%20%22char%20grilled%22%20that%20that%20was%20no%20lie.%20%20A%20choice%20of%20side%20salad%20or%20pub%20chips%20comes%20with%20this%20burger.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EDurango%20Brewing%20Company%20is%20a%20place%20where%20you%20can%20go%20with%20family%20and/or%20friends,%20have%20a%20drink%20or%20two,%20eat%20very%20good%20pub%20style%20food,%20and%20simply%20relax.%20%20There%20are%20some%20game%20machines%20in%20the%20pub%20and%20they%20do%20have%20Wi-Fi.%20%20Check%20it%20out!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EMary%20Cokenour%3C/p%3E){kind=link}
