- Brown almonds and chicken in a very small amount of oil in a large skillet. Add in pea pods and stir over moderately high heat (about 1 minute). Add in mixed vegetables and stir. Add in water, ginger, and soy sauce. Simmer for about 5 min (the amount of water depends on the amount of sauce you like). Thicken with cornstarch, mixed in a little cool water. Stir till sauce is proportionately thickened. Serve with rice (add in a couple Tbsp. of soy sauce to the water when cooking rice.)
