%20need%20a%20special%20occasion%20to%20bake%20a%20cake%20or%20cupcakes....but,%20well...lemme%20just%20say%20that%20as%20much%20as%20I%20love%20Paula%20Deen,%20it%20is%20not%20my%20desire%20to%20be%20just%20like%20her.%20Which%20reminds%20me...I%20heard%20the%20funniest%20thing%20on%20her%20show%20this%20morning.....%22When%20I%20see%20a%20skinny%20girl%20walking%20down%20the%20street,%20I%20think%20to%20myself...I'm%20gonna%20send%20her%20a%20pie!%22%20LOL.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAnyways.....When%20I%20was%20asked%20to%20be%20a%20baker%20for%20Cupcake%20Camp%20L.A.%20and%20bake%20at%20least%20100%20cupcakes%20(I%20ended%20up%20bring%20117),%20my%20mind%20started%20ticking%20away%20at%20the%20various%20flavors%20I%20wanted%20to%20make.%20That's%20when%20I%20decided%20to%20make%20Grandmother's%20Strawberry%20Cake%20into%20cupcakes.%20Evlie's%20Berry%20Best%20Cupcakes%20were%20born%20and%20made%20their%20debut%20last%20weekend%20in%20Hollywood,%20at%20a%20most%20incredibly%20fun%20event.%20I%20have%20to%20apologize%20for%20the%20quality%20of%20pictures%20below%20but%20the%20lighting%20was%20odd....and%20there%20was%20so%20much%20excitement%20and%20activity%20that%20my%20mind%20just%20couldn't%20take%20the%20time%20to%20futz%20around%20with%20high%20quality...I%20just%20wanted%20the%20pictures%20to%20hopefully%20capture%20the%20spirit.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ELeft....my%20cupcake%20tree%20featuring%20Elvie's%20Berry%20Best%20and%20Devils%20Trifecta.%20Top%20right,%20cupcakers%20setting%20up%20their%20booths.%20Right%20middle....Cupcake%20Camp%20L.A.%20in%20full%20swing.%20Bottom%20right,%20a%20treat%20for%20all%20the%20hard%20work.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20picture%20above%20are%20my%20Chai%20Latte%20(a.k.a.%20L.A.'s%20Diva)%20cupcakes%20and%20Sweet%20Potato%20cupcakes%20with%20maple%20and%20brown%20sugar%20icing%20(a.k.a.%20Spud's%20Sweet%20Delight)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIn%20the%20picture%20below%20is%20my%20closest%20friend%20Priscilla%20who%20came%20along%20for%20the%20ride%20to%20help%20me%20out%20and%20keep%20me%20company%20at%20my%20booth.%20Thank%20you%20Prissy!!!%20You're%20the%20best!%20I%20love%20you!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EWhere%20else,%20other%20than%20at%20a%20Cupcake%20Camp,%20will%20you%20see%20people%20lined%20up%20at%20a%20bar,%20eating%20cupcakes%20instead%20of%20drinking%20cocktails%20and%20beer?%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E(no%20comment...just%20good%20fun)It%20really%20was%20an%20awesome%20day.%20We%20were%20a%20little%20nervous%20because%20the%20day%20was%20rainy...and%20us%20SoCal%20peeps%20don't%20like%20to%20venture%20out%20much%20in%20the%20rain....but%20apparently%20when%20there%20are%20cupcakes%20to%20be%20had....rain%20or%20shine,%20they%20show%20up!%20There%20was%20a%20line%20outside%20waiting%20to%20come%20in%20and%20it%20was%20non-stop%20crowds%20for%205%20hours.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20just%20want%20to%20say%20a%20big%20Thank%20You!!!%20to%20Babette%20over%20at%20BakeSpace.com%20for%20hosting%20this%20event.%20You%20did%20a%20fantastic%20job.%20I%20hope%20you%20do%20it%20again%20cuz%20I%20will%20be%20there%20for%20sure!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EThis%20is%20an%20extremely%20easy%20recipe%20with%20great%20results.%20If%20you're%20not%20into%20strawberries,%20you%20can%20change%20it%20up%20by%20using%20other%20berries%20if%20you%20wish.%20I%20think%20blackberries%20or%20boysenberries%20would%20be%20a%20lot%20of%20fun!!!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EElvie's%20Berry%20Best%20Cupcakes%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBatter:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20box%20white%20cake%20mix%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EPreheat%20your%20oven%20to%20350'.%20Line%20about%2024%20muffin%20tins%20with%20paper%20liners.%20You%20may%20have%20a%20little%20batter%20leftover.%20I%20ended%20up%20making%20a%20few%20mini%20muffins%20as%20well.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3ECombine%20all%20of%20the%20batter%20ingredients%20and%20mix%20well.%20Pour%20into%20prepared%20muffin%20tins%20and%20bake%20for%20about%2020%20-25%20minutes...or%20until%20a%20toothpick%20inserted%20in%20the%20middle%20of%20a%20cupcake%20comes%20out%20clean.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EAllow%20to%20cool%20completely%20before%20icing%20them.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIcing:%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20cup%20softened%20butter%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1%20lb%20powdered%20sugar%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E1/2%20cup%20strawberries,%20roughly%20chopped%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EBeat%20the%20butter%20for%202%20minutes%20on%20med-high%20until%20creamy.%20Reduce%20the%20speed%20to%20med%20and%20add%20the%20powdered%20sugar,%201/2%20cup%20at%20a%20time.%20Beat%20until%20fluffy.%20Add%20the%20strawberries%20and%20beat%20until%20incorporated.%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EIce%20away....and%20enjoy!%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3EI%20started%20a%20silly%20phrase%20on%20Facebook%20the%20other%20day.%20I%20thought%20I'd%20share%20the%20results%20with%20you.......%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22You%20know%20you're%20a%20foodie%20when.......%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22You%20can't%20stay%20out%20of%20the%20kitchen%20after%20cooking%20all%20day%20yesterday%22%20(yesterday%20being%20Thanksgiving%20Day)%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22You%20dream%20about%20parsley,%20sage,%20rosemary%20and%20thyme%22%3C/p%3E%3Cp%3E%22You%20wrap%20your%
